Ask any of our residents’ adult children how it feels to have Mom and Dad at Vantage House, and they’ll tell you it’s wonderful for them to be so close by. They’ll also tell you it’s a huge relief.
One woman says her mother gave her adult children “a tremendous gift” when she decided to move to Vantage House. “Mom’s close to us now,” she says. “She gets to spend time with us — and her grandchildren, and that means a lot to all of us. And we never worry. If there’s a power failure, Vantage House has a generator. When it’s snowing, we know Mom’s safe inside. When I call and she doesn’t answer the phone, I just leave a message. I don’t worry that she might have fallen, or she might be sick. I know that she may be deep into a book and doesn’t want to answer the phone or she may be getting together with friends.”
At Vantage House, everything is customized to fit your relative’s lifestyle. If you want to meet at the Mall for some shopping, they can drive their own car, or the Vantage House bus will drop them off. If they’d rather go out to eat with you than have dinner in the dining room, that’s their choice. And when the grandchildren want to stay overnight, they’re more than welcome, as long as it’s okay with Grandma and Grandpa.
