Bob And Jane McAllister:
Work And Charity
We love to visit the McAllister’s apartment, which is filled with antiques. Dark wood-framed glass French doors adorn their walls, as does a beautiful dark wood mantel with raised carvings. Statues of every size rest everywhere. Not that the McAllisters spend a lot of time at home.
At age 82, Bob, a psychiatrist, continues to see patients two days a week. And he and Jane, who is 75, spend a good bit of time on their favorite charity, the Breakfast Program. The program provides daily breakfasts for children from the barrios of Venezuela. “Sometimes this is the only meal they get all day,” says Bob, who became interested in the program after visiting Venezuela with a church friend several years ago.
